It seems like I found you days ago
Bloated and cold drifting in the surf
I stood and watched the waves drag
Your body up to the shore
I saw your lips, your eyes, your finger tips
And knew at once they were lifeless
The warmth that once flowed through you
Now has nowhere to call a home
Where are they now our days of bliss
Where is comfort where is hope
They sink as surely as a stone
Wither as surely as the trees
Every smile that I remember
Is replaced with your final mask
Every touch of your skin
Becomes cold in my mind
I find myself alone among the trees
Miles from you, miles from me
Dreading the sight of your skin and bones tonight
If I force myself to sleep
My body surrenders
It shall be consumed
Into the earth

This is my favorite release by a criminally underrated American black metal project. The astonishing musicianship (this was a one-person band), the way the dense howl of vocals and strings contrast with the spacey 80s Joe Hisaishi keys, the unusual and endlessly creative ways the drum machine is utilized - there's still nothing quite like Petrychor, even now. I've listened to 'Planets Born of Human Ash' a hundred times and the percussion still blows my mind.
Cheers, and thanks for the music. Vintage Devilry

After listening to Ysyry Mollvün, listening to Downfall of Nur was urgent and turned out to be one of the best decisions I have made in quite some time: Umbras de Barbagia is simply magisterial; the atmosphere can hardly be compared to anything else. There is a deep, palpable connection to nature imbueing each very fibre of this record. The amalgamation of black metal and folk elements is done with a high intuition for detail and class, resulting in a highly immersive experience. Wonderful. David Fischer

This album is, without a shadow of a doubt, my favourite album of all time. Lyrically magnificent, musically phenomenal, and the plot is one of the most well constructed things I've ever seen, being both coherent and deep. Don't miss up on the chance to listen to this beast, it is truly incredible. iamtherevenant
Seattle’s Laden captures the storm and stress of the greatest, grimmest post-metal, crafting songs from 20-megaton riffs. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 29, 2022

This has got to be my favorite atmospheric black metal song of all time. The way it has what I assume is synth mixed with those perfectly visceral vocals just well it makes me weirdly emotional. clouddasher
